Recommendations for daily protein intake - overview by the International Protein Board iPB

The International Protein Board iPB has created a clear chart that shows recommendations for protein requirements, broken down by different target groups. The iPB emphasises that protein requirements are dietary minimums and were not concepted to serve as target for diet planning. Thus, they are dietary requirement or reference intake levels, not necessarily recommendations for food and dietary planning.

In addition, there are protein recommendations from various expert commissions, which specifically address special population groups such as athletes, vegetarians, elderly people and children:

» Protein - Nutrition for sport and exercise / British Nutrition Foundation
» Protein - Nutrition and Athletic Performance / Medicine & Science in Sports & Exercise
