BSC YOUNG BOYS Rely on the Expertise of SPONSER

For years, the first team of BSC YOUNG BOYS has been performing brilliantly on the national and international stage. Young, dynamic players and experienced performers excite spectators and soccer fans with their passionate playing and tactical creativity.

Personalised nutrition: a key factor in success

In professional football and soccer nowadays, it takes more than just maximum motivation and outstanding athleticism to score the perfect finish and a celebrated goal. An individualised nutrition tailored to the specific sport during training and competition is an essential element in the journey towards peak athletic performance. Professional soccer players, who want to perform at their best on the grass for 90 to 120 minutes, are constantly striving to optimise their performance, recovery and injury prevention. This is also the case for the first team of BSC YOUNG BOYS, which relies on scientifically designed sports nutrition from the Swiss manufacturer SPONSER.

Sweat Test: precise insights into electrolyte loss

As a first step, the YB players took part in an individual sweat analysis using SPONSER's Sweat Test to determine their personal sweat and electrolyte losses and develop personalised nutrition and hydration strategies. The sweat patch, which was worn for one hour during training, provides precise information about sodium and salt levels and reveals to each individual player the doses of micronutrients required to achieve peak athletic performance on the court.

Micronutrients for performance management and performance

Athletic trainer Daniel Müssig confirms that sweat analysis is highly relevant for BSC Young Boys soccer players. In his view, this data enables targeted control of fluid balance and a more individualised approach to micronutrients and the players' overall nutrition and supplement intake. Müssig emphasises: «Fluid balance is extremely important for performance management, performance on the field and, above all, injury prevention.»

This statement is in line with scientific findings, according to which sodium can play a role in energy supply, hydration, sensitivity to cramps, heart and brain function, and in counteracting hyponatraemia.

SPONSER sports nutrition for the highest demands in professional football and soccer

With SPONSER's scientifically based supplements, the first team of BSC YOUNG BOYS unlocks each player’s full potential and performs at the highest level on the pitch.
